
Richard Lee Thurman of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away Saturday evening, August 2, 2025, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on June 10, 1953 and was 72 years old.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. Known as “PePaw” to his grandchildren, spending time with them was one of his greatest joys. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pulaski. Richard retired from AT & T after 48 & ½ years of service, being a member of the Local 3803 CWA Union for all those years.
Richard was an avid UT Vols fan and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, and he loved all Giles County Sports. He was proud of his playing days at Giles County High in both baseball and football.
A visitation will be from 10:00am until 1:00pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, Tennessee.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, R.W. Thurman and Kathleen Lee Thurman. His father-in-law, Kennith Coffman along with his sister-in-law, Sharon Derryberry. Several aunts and uncles also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Coffman Thurman of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Son, Josh Thurman of Lavergne, Tennessee.
Son, Daniel (Giselle) Thurman of Murfressboro, Tennessee.
Daughter, Julie Thurman of San Ramon, California.
Grandchildren, Bryson, Olivia, Isabella Lee, Ava, Addison, and Chloe along with his great-granddaughter, Emberlyn.
Brother, Ronald (Charlene) Thurman of Lewisburg, Tennessee.
Mother-in-law, June Coffman of Franklin, Tennessee.
Niece, Karla (Michael) Gardner of Pulaski, Tennessee.
Brothers-in-law, Randy (Susan) Coffman of Thompsons Station, Tennessee and Cecil Derryberry of Petersburg, Tennessee.
