Patricia Biggs "Pat" Sailors

Patricia Biggs Sailors (“Pat Sailors”) of Pulaski, TN passed away at home on February 18, 2026 at age 89. She was born in Mason City, Illinois in 1936. Pat was a loving mother, and grandmother. She spent her early life in Mason City, Illinois. She attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale earning an Associate Degree in Chemistry. While working at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, Illinois she met her future husband Richard (“Dick”) Sailors.  Pat supported Dick as a stay-at-home mother to their two children, Matt and Megan during Dick’s PhD studies and early post-doctoral career.  During this period, she served as a Cub Scout and Brownie / Girl Scout leader and a classroom parent.  As a classroom parent she was regularly volunteered by her children to chaperone field trip and to prepare treats for special events at their school.  Pat was active in the First United Methodist Church in Pulaski for over 45 years. For over 30 years she was secretary of the District office of the legacy Pulaski District/Harpeth River District of the United Methodist Church. She served with multiple district superintendents and acted as the institutional memory of the district and mentor to countless young clergy. In both her personal and professional life she also served the legacy Tennessee Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church as a lay delegate to annual conference and Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference, served on The Board of Ordained Ministry and well as many local committees. Pat and Dick also enjoyed spending time with several area laity groups.
Pat and Dick had been married for 58 years at the time of his death in early February 2026.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Pulaski, TN. A memorial service will follow.  

Patricia was proceeded in death by her husband Richard Sailors, parents, James C and Maye Biggs (Tibbs), and her in-laws Howard R and Marie Sailors (Faust).

Son, R. Matthew Sailors (Rhonda) of Gainesville, FL
Daughter, Megan (Andy) Lewter of Martin, TN
Grandsons, Andrew and Mitchell Lewter of Martin, TN and Ian and Sean Sailors of Gainesville, FL

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, TN.
