    Lela Jane Guinn of the Brick Church Community passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.  Jane was born in Pulaski, TN on August 21, 1939, and was 86 years old.  She attended Brick Church Elementary, Beech Hill High School, and The University of Tennessee Knoxville where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a major in Home Economics.
    Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and servant of her community whose life reflected faith, kindness, and generosity.  She taught Home Economics until she became a mother for the first time.  Jane took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her family and treasured her role as a stay-at-home mother.  She was a member of the Farm Bureau Women’s group, and a winner in the “Pick Tennessee Products” program.  A faithful member of First Baptist Church, Jane served as a co-leader of the Agape Sunday School class and had a true gift for ministering to others. 

    A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

    The funeral service will take place on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Pulaski

    The burial will be at Brick Church Cemetery in Cornersville, TN.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Pulaski, 407 S 1st St, Pulaski, TN 38478 

    Jane was preceded in death by, her parents, Owen and Mildred Bass, In-laws, Deadrick and Gertrude Guinn, sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Larry Gillespie, Jean Guinn, and son-in-law, Randy Vincent. 

    She is survived by,
    Her husband of 65 ½ years, Burgess “Bud” Guinn of the Brick Church Community
    Daughters, Lisa Vincent of Cornersville, TN
    Lori (Mitch) Kocak of Cornersville,TN
    Granddaughter, Madelyn Guinn (Dylan) Smith 
    Step grandson, Richard
    Step great-grandchildren, Raina and Rita
    Brothers-in-law Allen Guinn, Marlan (Cheri) Guinn, and Lowell (Hannah) Guinn
    Sisters-in-law, Doris (Max) Bailey and Sue Guinn
    Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive
    Best friend from elementary through college and adulthood, Norma Jean Brumitt 
    Special long-distance friends, Macie Buckner, Mickey Beckham, and Wanda Hartley

    Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Lela Jane Guinn.
