LaDon Sain, born January 16, 1947, departed from this earthly sojourn on October 4, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her parents R.W. & Floy Vick (of Hardin, KY) and her brother Neil Ray Vick (Hardin, KY). Married to Paul Sain (1964) and their home has been blessed with four children: Mischelle (deceased 1966), Dawn Grisham (Al), Lebanon, TN, Monica Skelton (Grant), Collierville, TN, and Heather Woodard (Mark), Pulaski, TN. They have seven grandchildren (Tyson, Steffany, Micah, Morgan, Briana, Taylor and Bryce), and now there are three great-grandchildren (Charlee Rae, Cohen James and Everett Allen). The Sains welcomed five foster children to their home over the years.
Moved to Pulaski, Tennessee (1987) to work with the East Hill Church Of Christ. LaDon and Paul have worked in spiritual work all of our life, in Missouri, Kentucky, and Alabama. LaDon has worked with Paul at Sain Publications for almost 50 years. At the East Hill Church Of Christ, she served faithfully in many roles, taught Bible classes. In 2015 we began working with the Cedar Grove Church Of Christ in Rogersville, Alabama (where we are blessed to continue serving). The special and dear love of the folks there have embraced LaDon in marvelous fashion.
At the Sain Publications business she wrote Bible class material, was an excellent proof-reader, precise business manager, and a gracious host to countless preachers, students and friends. She was a faithful and talented worker with many talents and able to do most anything needed.
Of the many talents and passions of her life, the following stand out (as detailed by her three girls): she was known for her beautiful yard (loved mowing the yard and weed-eating), flowers, shrubs • a Kentucky basketball fanatic, loved University of Tennessee football, different bowling leagues and obsessed golfer • Bible scholar • Beautiful alto singer • “Dr. Mom” whether a question about her grandchildren or children, she knew or looked it up • elegant and beautiful, from exquisite dangly earrings to colorful size 5 shoes • Loved shopping (fast walking mode) and could do much damage in 15 minutes or 5 hours • kept her home immaculately clean (ready for visitors at any time) and known for her candle burning • dedicated wife and gently and lovingly supported him, through ups and down • an outstanding cook (especially Thanksgiving meals) • Her favorite times were seeing and playing with her grands and great-grands • the perfectly imperfect momma, lovingly called NANA whom we all adored.
