James "J.C." Nolen

James “J.C.” Nolen, age 88 of Anderson, Alabama born June 27, 1937 went home to be with Jesus on September 30, 2025. He was a great Christian man, a loving Dad and PawPaw, a wonderful brother and precious friend to many. His love of God has always been apparent in his life. He has shown kindness to others and made many friends over the years. His favorite saying was, “in order to have a friend, you’ve got to be a friend”, and he lived by it. He is retired from Lawrenceburg Glass in Lawrenceburg, TN. and a member of Centerhill Church of Christ in Greenhill, Alabama.

He leaves behind two daughters Amanda Biggers and Ronda Payne. His grandchildren, Calvin Hicks (Terri) and Janna Harrison. Laura Garrie (Steve), Tamara Jones, Matthew Jones (Michelle). Great grandchildren Autumn Garrie, Kynslee and Isaac Garrie, Dominic and Aaron Carter, Rozlynn and Westynn Jones, James and Chris Harrison. One great-great grandson Abel Harrison. Bonus grandchildren Brock Corbin, Jade Kosmicki, Brianna Wavercan, Brayden Wavercan, and Zane Wavercan. Brother, Charles Nolen, sisters, Ann Phillips (David), Thelma Mercado (Buddy), and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks goes to his sweet and supportive girlfriend Dessie Lanier for always being caring and loving to him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Delphene Nolen, his former wife Edith Faye Nolen, daughter Anita Nolen, parents Arthur and Audrey Nolen of Lexington, two brothers and one sister.

Special thanks to Dr. Steven Smith and the staff at Maury Regional Medical Center, Tracy Turner and staff at Caris Hospice, along with the staff at Lifecare Center who were such a blessing for Dad and our family.

Graveside service will be held at Antioch Cemetery next to Antioch Church of Christ in Killen, AL on Friday October 3 at 1:00 with Minister Greg Swindle officiating.
