
Fred Brown was born on November 4, 1938 to the late John Thomas and Lucille Brown in the Cedar Grove Community in Giles County, Tennessee. He transitioned to his Heavenly home on September 21, 2025. Fred accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Anthony Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he loved to pray, sing and testify about the goodness of God. He attended Cedar Grove School until the 6th grade. Thereafter, he received his education through home-bound services. Fred possessed many skills including building tools and crafting chairs and toys for his siblings. Later Fred was a student at The Impact Center for disabled individuals. His great ability to interact with others gained him many friends. A great love of his was to attend activities at The Senior Citizen Center. He excelled at various games like Bingo where he was a big winner of prizes that he proudly brought home. He stayed active until his health begin to fail. Fred was full of surprises such as driving a tractor before he was old enough to. He loved young children especially his great and great-great nieces and nephews. And he loved his family but most of all he loved the Lord and expressed his faith and devotion through song and prayer. He did not need an audience but would express his love. In addition, he loved his hats. He had acquired an impressive and vast collection.
He resided at Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Ardmore Tennessee where he received excellent care until he transitioned into the hands of God, our Heavenly Father.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Lucille Brown and sister, Annie Pearl Jordan as well as four brothers, William Brown, Clifford Brown, Eugene Brown and John Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted sisters, Eulelia Lawrence, Prospect, TN and Brenda K. Brown, Jamaica Queens, NY; brothers, Ira S. Brown, Prospect, TN, Clarence Brown, Nashville, TN, and dedicated brother, Wade (Melinda) Brown, Pulaski, TN; He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Fred Brown will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 5pm until 7pm at Jordan Funeral Home, 327 Mill Street, Pulaski, TN.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 25, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10am and the 11am service immediately following at The Greater Richland Creek Missionary Baptist Association (Central Building), 1095 Bledsoe Road, Pulaski, TN.
Interment will be in Love Cemetery off of Nancy Green Ridge Road.
