
Billy Ray McGill of Pulaski, Tennessee passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 26th, 2025 at NHC Pulaski. He was born in Minor Hill, Tennessee on August 7th, 1936 and was 89 years old.
Billy Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was affectionately known as “Daddy Ray” to nearly everyone. He had a deep love for sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and Vanderbilt Commodores. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of East Hill Church of Christ.
Billy Ray proudly served in the United States Army in Company A, 28th US Infantry and later retired from Tennessee Box in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Bennett-May and Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Giles Memorial Gardens.
Billy Ray was preceded in death by his parents David Homer and Flora Lee Thorne McGill; Brothers, Maurice, Charles David, Wadell and Milford McGill; Sisters Lois McGill and Myra Siniard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann Long McGill. Daughter Cindy Creecy and husband Tony; son Dwayne McGill and Cynthia Hamilton; daughter Dianne Kelly and husband Jay. His five grandchildren include, Chris (Tina) McGill, April McGill, Jenny Lee (Jordan) Robinson, Derek Baker, and Madison (Derrick) Golden. His eight great grandchildren include Hannah McGill, Bella and Jackson Farr, Harper and Hank Robinson, Brynlee Baker and Austyn and Liam Golden.
He is also survived by his brothers, Terry McGill, Daniel (Joyce) McGill, Don (Carol) McGill and sister Sandra Summey.
