    Minister Shirley Ann Haynes Brown was born on January 9, 1949, to the late James Ezell and Willie Emma Walker Haynes.  Shirley was called home by God on May 23, 2026, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center in Ardmore. Shirley received her education in Marshall County in which she graduated in May 1967.  On June 8, 1967, she married Thomas J. Brown to this union four children were born.  Her spiritual journey began at St. Matthew AME Church in Cornersville, TN. After moving to Pulaski, TN she united with Old Mt Zion where she served faithfully until her health declined.  She was called to the ministry sometime during the late 90’s.  She was always quoting scriptures and telling everyone she met about Jesus Christ.  Shirley was an honest straight spoken advice person who told it like it was as spiritually and humanly possible.  

    A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

    The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

    The interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

    Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Thomas Brown, and her son, Jason Brown.  

    She leaves to cherish, two sons, Marcus “Moose” (Charmaine) Brown, and Kelvin (Tina) Brown, and Daughter, Carshina Brown
    7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren 
    A host of brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews also survive. 

    Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements for Shirley Ann Haynes Brown.
