Lina Sue Oliver Underwood

Linda Sue Oliver Underwood of Titusville, FL passed away on April 13, 2026 at Addington Place Assisted Living. She was born on the Robert William Farm on Blue Creek Road in Giles County, TN on January 31, 1943 and was 83 years old. Sue was a devoted and loving wife to Rufus for 64 years and a wonderful mother to her four daughters. She was a member of the North Brevard Church of Christ for many years. She loved to cross stitch, quilt, sew, and paint. She and Rufus loved to travel and took many trips to Alaska, Hawaii, the western United States, Panama, and Italy. Her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cy and Sadie Oliver, her brothers, Dalton Oliver, George Oliver, John Oliver, Jimmie Ray Oliver, and Felix Oliver, her sisters Ruth King, Margie Poole, Mellie Marie Oliver, and Mai Bell Steuart, brothers-in-law Houston King, Herbert Poole, Garland Steuart, and James Ross.

Sue is survived by her loving husband Rufus Underwood, daughters Tina (Dan) Lawrence, Cindy (Wayne) Paulin, Michelle (Garth) Connelly, and Amanda Underwood, grandchildren Jason Lawrence, Tyler (Nicole) Lawrence, Chase Underwood, Lacey (Caleb) Mahler, Kasey (Justin Brooks) Connelly, Haley Connelly, and Kyley (Joseph) Bailey, great-grandchildren Sloane Lawrence, Finn Lawrence, Melanie Mahler, Valerie Mahler, Riley Welch, Reesa Welch, Oaklee Brooks, Kenna Brooks, Caitlyn Brooks, Brody Connelly, Joey Bailey, Luke Bailey, Bentley Bailey, and Cooper Bailey, sisters Betty Ross, Jean (Wade) Prosser, and Gay (Ronald) Spivey, and too many nieces and nephews to list here.

Visitation will be held at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Funeral service will be Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Bennett May & Pierce Funeral Home with burial in Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville TN.
