Leroy Abernathy also known as “Hoggie” of Pulaski, age 79 transitioned from
this earthly life to eternal rest on August 22, 2025 at TriStar Centennial Medical
Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born on September 8, 1945 to the late Robert Lee Abernathy Sr. and
Alberta Rebecca Abernathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie “Penny” Abernathy;
brothers: Robert L. Abernathy Jr., James A. Abernathy, Joseph Abernathy, John
Abernathy, and Edward Abernathy; and sister, Margaret Lureen Coleman.
Leroy leaves behind to cherish his memory, one brother, Thomas Alva
Abernathy, sister-in-laws, Annie Laura Abernathy and Ara Cross; brother-in-
laws, Robert “Cap” Cross and Reginald Huff; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service for Leroy Abernathy will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at
11:00 am in Maplewood Cemetery, 500 Ballentine Street, Pulaski, Tennessee.
Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Leroy Abernathy.
