John Thomas “Sonny” Reynolds

John Thomas Reynolds, affectionately known as “Sonny,” of Elkton was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday night, June 3, 2025, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski, Tennessee.

He was 86 years old. Born on April 19, 1939, in Bodenham, Tennessee, John was the fourth of twelve children born to the late Early Dan Reynolds and Frances Inman Reynolds. He attended public school in Bodenham and went on to build a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family. john dedicated over 30 years of service to Jack’s Cookie/Frito-Lay, retiring from the Pulaski, TN location in 1997. He also worked at a pharmacy delivering medicine by bicycle in Lawrenceburg, TN, as well as Omen Construction building bridges in his early years. Never one to sit still, John enjoyed hauling hay and logs, cutting grass, and tinkering with lawn mowers and cars. He was known for his ever-present smile, his love of storytelling, and his favorite pastime—watching Family Feud from his favorite chair. A proud and faithful member of Taylor Street Church of Christ, John lived a life of kindness,
humility, and joy. His good spirit touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his siblings: Ara Cross (Pulaski, TN), Etha (Andrew) Smith (Nashville, TN),Lewis Reynolds (Elkmont, AL), and Donald Reynolds (Waynesboro, TN); his children: Timothy Reynolds, John K. Reynolds, and Travis Reynolds (all of Pulaski, TN), Angela Reynolds
(Nashville, TN), and Kierra Reynolds (Huntsville, AL); Stepchildren: Brenda (Emanual) Young, Benita (Derrick) Coffey, and Anthony Randolph; and his grandchildren: Tenisha Reynolds, Ma’Kailah Reynolds, Myron Reynolds, Miyah Carden, and Makyron Marsh, along with a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service for John Thomas “Sonny” Reynolds will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11am and the 12noon service immediately following at Taylor Street Church of Christ 413 Mitchell Street, Pulaski, TN. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in the Bodenham Community. Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for John Thomas “Sonny” Reynolds.
