Beverly Sue “Speedy” Gray, age 74, of Pulaski, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at NHC Pulaski. She was born in Giles County on October 27, 1951. Speedy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her kindness, love, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Bates Chapman; her parents, Robert Mitchell Hutton Jr. and Lillian Appleton Hutton; her sister, Nancy Elease Castleberry; and her brothers, Stephen Ray Hutton and Jerry Wayne Hutton.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Douthit Ray (Adam) of Pulaski, TN; granddaughters, Victoria Leigh Chapman of Pulaski, TN, and Skylin Elease Ray; grandson, Rylan Daniel Ray; sister, Jean Hutton James (Bill) of Rogersville, AL; brother, Billy Hutton and wife Wanda; close friends, Beverly Murrey and Laurie Nwosu; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to NHC Pulaski and Caris Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided during her final days.
