Betty Jean Wise

Betty Jean Wise, age 86, passed away on October 20th, 2026. She was born on May 1st, 1940, to Alvin Williams and Etha Belle Williams.

She was a Christian and a homemaker. She loved her family unconditionally and was the best “Ma” to her grandsons. She enjoyed country rides, growing beautiful flowers and cooking the best holiday meals. She loved her furbaby, Piper.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wise; parents; sister, Peggy Dodson; and brothers, Willie Joe Williams and Louie Williams.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Rickie Paulk (Daniel) of California, Mickey Paulk (Cindy) of Athens, and Greg Paulk of Athens; daughter, Lori Springer (Rodney) of Athens; grandsons, Joel Paulk, Will Grisham (Jessica Naylor), and Ethan Springer, all of Athens; brother, Ronnie Williams of Minor Hill, TN; sisters, Carolyn Williams of Athens, Connie Burchell of Pulaski, TN, and Brenda Capps (Roy) of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Will Grisham, Ethan Springer, Ronnie Williams, Cordale Williams, Mikey Williams, and Jimmy Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Brantley Taylor and Richard Taylor.

Funeral services for Betty Jean Wise will be held Sunday, October 25th, 2026` with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
