Ardmore Public Library has partnered with Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation to launch a new book on the Storybook Trail at John Barnes Park with a ribbon-cutting event Wednesday, July 22nd, from 10am to Noon in conjunction with the library’s Summer Reading Finale.
The Storybook Trail is an outdoor reading experience where families can interact through literacy and physical activity. The Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation and the Ardmore Public Library launch the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book “Little Owl’s Night” on child-height panels along a short trail with featured reading tips to promote adult-child interaction around books and nature.
The Ardmore Public Library was awarded grant funding from the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation Storybook Trail program as part of their “Plot Twist” award which funds commissioning new panels of a book on an existing Storybook Trail. The Ardmore Storybook Trail was originally dedicated in 2021, through funding from the same Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation Storybook Trail program.
This free event will mark the end of a highly successful Summer Reading program through Ardmore Public Library and will include, crafts for kids, prizes, a walking trail passport, and Kona Ice for all ages. Families, churches, groups, and organizations are invited to join the fun from 10:00am to Noon for family fun and access to the splashpad at the park.
The Event will be held Wednesday, July 22nd from 10am until 12pm @ the John Barnes Walking Trail, 30515 Ardmore Ridge Rd, Ardmore,
