Genevieve Abernathy Jones

Genevieve Abernathy Jones, age 86, of Pulaski, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Maury
Regional Medical Center. She was born in Giles County on August 13, 1939.
Genevieve spent most of her life as a homemaker which she loved because she got to spend the time
with her family. She loved going to church every time the doors were open. Genevieve enjoyed having
family get togethers and getting to cook for her family. She loved going to the goodwill stores on
Saturdays with her husband and after that going to get something to eat.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31 st , 2026 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce
Funeral Home.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 1 st , 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May
& Pierce Funeral Home
Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Nancy Peek Abernathy, sisters, Lela
Mae Clark, Edith Abbott and brother, Raymond J. Abernathy.
She is survived by her
Husband of 67 years, James Marvin Jones of Pulaski, TN
Son, Eddie Jones of Pulaski, TN
Daughter, Cathy McGrew of Pulaski, TN
Daughter, Robbie (Charles Oakley) Jones of Pulaski, TN
Grandchildren, Alisha Norwood and Brittany (Tyler) Cantrell both of Madison, AL
Great grandchildren, Brailey Grace Cantrell and Camo Norwood
Special friends, Nikki Porch and Margaret Cagle
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
