Dora Dymple Surles Smith

Dora Dymple Surles Smith, age 93 of Pulaski, passed away on April 29, 2026 at her home. Dymple was born September 30, 1932 to Oscar Leon and Mamie Ruth Gowan Surles. She worked at Steven’s Pant Factory for 20yrs., then she worked at Fafnir until she retired in the early 2000’s to watch her great grandchildren. Her family was her life! Dymple was a member of Fall River Church of Christ and her church family was a big part of her life. She loved outside and gardening.

Dymple was preceded in death by her mother Mamie Surles, father Oscar Surles, her husband of 36 years James T. Smith, and daughter-in-law Candy Smith. 

Visitation will be 1-5 pm Sunday May 3, 2026 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral will be 1 pm Monday May 4, 2026 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with interment to follow in Giles Memory Gardens.

Survivors include her son James “Mike” “Snuffy” Smith of Pulaski; granddaughters Cassy Chapman (Jeremy), Angie Smith ( Ricky) all of Pulaski; great grandchildren McKenzie Combs (Caleb), Brady Byrge (Kyler), Grayson Mills (Brackin), Hannah Britt (Bradley), Cole “Bubba” Tomerlin (Ally); great great grandchildren Kooper Rose, Bentley and Bodhi Britt; Lots of other relatives and friends.
