Cathy Louise Golden

Cathy Louise Golden, age 72, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Lawrenceburg. Cathy was born on February 5th, 1954 to the late Henry Rufus Shepherd and Catherine Louise Shepherd in Summertown, TN. Cathy had a deep love for children and worked for many years as a school assistant/teacher for the Lawrenceburg Baptist Temple as well as Granny’s Childcare in Lawrenceburg. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, crafting, treasure hunting, reading, being a Nanny, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Shepherd and Annie Shepherd; brothers, Charles Kennedy, Jerry Shepherd, Donnie Shepherd, Danny Shepherd, and George Shepherd; mother-in-law, Geneva Golden, and her son-in-law, James Baumann.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Gary Golden; children, Jammie Golden (Pam), Velvet Golden, and Candice Woodward (Ethan); grandchildren, Alishia Cozart (Kaleb), Chelsey Boyd, and Breanna Boyd (J.J. Lincoln); great grandchildren, Noah Cozart, Avaleigh Cozart, and Titus Cozart; brothers, Billy Shepherd and Tommy Shepherd, and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26th, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Brother Jeff Burkhart will be officiating. 

Interment will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
