
PULASKI, Tenn. - The STAAR Theatre and American Legion Post 60 present the Veterans Music Showcase on Saturday, August 9th, featuring Ty Warner and Friends. Performers include Layla Tucker, Tommy Barnes, Hunt Kirbow, and Tracy Latham.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with music from 7 to 10 p.m. Proceeds benefit local American Legion programs that support veterans, youth, and community services.

Mark Young, a Minor Hill resident and Army veteran, is known for his passion for singing and bringing joy to others. He was a long-standing member of the District 5 Band, during which time he performed for numerous veterans, including his home Post, Post 60.

Tracy Latham, a resident of Lewisburg, has demonstrated a commitment to fostering community connection since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. He is an accomplished musician proficient in multiple stringed instruments and regularly performs for veterans at Post 60.

Karree Phillips is a passionate singer and songwriter whose energetic performances and captivating melodies are highly engaging. Her work, which includes original songs and collaborations, consistently garners significant attention. Ms. Phillips, a sought-after songwriter and performer, is frequently requested for co-writing projects and Nashville Songwriter events. Her rising prominence is evidenced by recent coverage in the New York Times and an appearance on a Songwriter TV program, solidifying her status as an artist to watch.

Originally from Tupelo, Mississippi, Tommy's upbringing was in North Alabama, and he presently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Following a four-year tenure in the US Air Force, he relocated to Nashville to pursue a career in music. After dedicating several years to honing his skills, he achieved his initial success with Hank Williams Jr., who recorded Tommy's song "Man to Man." Subsequently, Hank Jr. performed the song on the 1989 CMA Awards. His second composition, "Too Many Honky-Tonks on My Way Home," was recorded by Tom Wopat, known for his role as "Luke Duke" in the television series "The Dukes of Hazzard."
