The Tennessee Department of Health is offering no-cost scholarships for Tennesseans who work in, or plan to work in, tobacco cessation to complete the nationally-accredited Comprehensive Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program.

The scholarships are available through the Tennessee Department of Health Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program, and the opportunity is designed for medical professionals, behavioral health providers, public health professionals, and others who serve individuals with tobacco and nicotine dependence.

The Duke-UNC Comprehensive Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program prepares participants to deliver evidence-based treatment using current standards of care. The course is 100 percent online and combines interactive learning with flexible instruction designed for working professionals.

Scholarships are available for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 training sessions.
