The Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug & other Addiction Services is proud to announce the launch of the new Tennessee Pathways Behavioral Health Education Award Initiative.
The initiative is designed to address the growing demand for behavioral health professionals across Tennessee’s 89 rural counties and support students who are committed to careers in substance use disorder treatment and mental health services.
The education award initiative is made possible through a Rural Health Transformation Program grant awarded this year to Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug & other Addiction Services and the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations. Like the existing Tennessee Behavioral Health Pathways Scholarship, this new initiative offers eligible students financial assistance to pursue a master’s degree in counseling, psychiatric nursing, social work, psychology, or similar behavioral health professions.
Under the new Tennessee Pathways Behavioral Health Education Award Initiative, award recipients must work five years in approved agencies located in rural Tennessee that offer mental health or substance use disorder treatment services.
The application portal for this award initiative is now open and available, If you have any questions, please contact ruralhealth@taadas.org.
