GILES COUNTY, Tenn. - The first round of the TSSAA High School Football Playoffs kicks off this week, and Giles County enters the postseason boasting two regional championship teams.
The Richland Raiders secured the Region 5-1A Championship after dominating Moore County with a 36–0 shutout victory. Meanwhile, the Giles County Bobcats fought hard in a nail-biting 41–38 win over Sequatchie County to capture the Region 4-3A Championship.
In the opening round of playoff action, Richland will host Collinwood at Wayne Hobbs Stadium on Friday, November 7th, at 7 p.m. The Giles County Bobcats will enjoy a first-round bye after Chattanooga Central forfeited their matchup. The Bobcats will advance automatically to the second round, giving them an extra week to prepare for their next opponent.
