GILES COUNTY, Tenn. — Giles County Schools have announced upcoming registration dates for families enrolling children in Pre-K and Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year.
Kindergarten registration will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at each child’s zoned elementary school. Children must be five years old on or before August 15, 2026, to be eligible. Registration will be held at Pulaski Elementary School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Elkton Elementary School from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Richland Elementary School from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Minor Hill School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Families are asked to bring their child to registration so incoming kindergarten students can participate in a BRIGANCE school-readiness screening while parents complete enrollment paperwork. Required documents include legal guardian identification, the child’s state-issued birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization certificate, proof of residency, and any applicable custody or medical documentation.
Pre-K registration will follow a two-step process. The online application period opens at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, and closes at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. Children must be four years old on or before August 15, 2026, to qualify for the program.
After submitting the online application, families will participate in a Documentation Drop-Off Day on Tuesday, May 5, at their child’s school of registration. Families will need to provide identification, the child’s birth certificate and Social Security card, immunization records, proof of residency, and proof of household income for all working adults in the household.
School officials note that students experiencing homelessness will be enrolled immediately if space is available, even if some documentation is not available at the time of registration.
Parents with questions about registration can contact April Sakowicz or Melissa Davis with Giles County Schools at 931-363-4558.
