GILES COUNTY, Tenn. — The Giles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic violence incident on Marvin Hughes Road on January 18, 2026, which they say led to a standoff with deputies.
Following an investigation at the residence, deputies arrested Sean Pruett, who was booked into the Giles County Jail on multiple charges related to the incident. Officials say additional charges may still be pending as the investigation remains ongoing.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office commended the responding deputies for their swift and decisive actions, which helped bring a dangerous situation to a safe resolution.

As with all arrests, all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
