GILES COUNTY, Tenn. - The Giles County Commission’s Budget Committee has approved a revised budget proposal that includes a 16.1% property tax increase. The new plan will now go before the full county commission for consideration.
This comes after an earlier version of the budget, which included a 28% tax hike, failed.
A public hearing and vote by the full commission will be scheduled at a later date. Officials encourage residents to stay informed and participate in the public hearing process once dates are announced.
WKSR will provide updates as more information becomes available.
