GILES COUNTY, Tenn. — Several major decisions were made during this week’s Giles County Commission meeting, which lasted more than three hours.
Among the votes taken, commissioners rejected an $8.5 million bond proposal that would have funded improvements to the Giles County Courthouse.
Commissioners also approved a measure authorizing the Abernathy Field Airport Authority, formally moving forward with the creation of the authority to oversee airport operations.
Officials say the actions taken during the meeting reflect ongoing discussions about fiscal responsibility, infrastructure, and long-term planning for the county.
