August was an incredible month of celebrations for the Tennessee Board of Regents and the College System of Tennessee.
Columbia State Community College, alongside partners TCAT-Hohenwald and TCAT-Pulaski, hosted a fabulous Friday night gathering August 21st, including live music and a 300-drone light show to mark the opening of the Southern Regional Technology Center. This new facility is a regional hub for hands-on training in high-demand fields, including nursing, welding, HVAC, automotive technology, respiratory care and engineering systems technology.
August 3rd, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Harriman opened. This $46.3 million dollar investment in technical education and training expands space for programming that includes construction, electrical, HVAC, machine tool technology and others.
August 24th, the 49,000-square-foot Fentress County Higher Education Center officially opened its doors. Located in Jamestown, this $25 million investment is a partnership between Roane State Community College and TCAT Oneida/Huntsville. It will modernize and expand education and technical training opportunities in practical nursing, telecommunications, industrial maintenance, building construction technology and allied health.
