Giles County native and longtime songwriter Worley Max McKinney will take the stage to share selections from his newest album, The Land of Milk and Honey: Songs and Memories From Giles County, Tennessee. The project features 16 original songs inspired by the people, places and traditions of the county he has called home his entire life.
In addition to his work as a performer, McKinney has built a respected career in the Nashville music industry. His songs have been recorded by artists including Conway Twitty, Don Gibson, Moe Bandy, Daryl Singletary, John Wesley Ryles, Neon Cactus and Linda Davis. He also co-wrote “Your Unfailing Love,” which appeared on the Grammy Award-winning album Love Remains by Hillary Scott and the Scott Family.
McKinney, who was raised in the Beech Hill community and educated at Beech Hill School and Martin College, still lives on his farm in the Beech Hill and Frankewing area. His deep connection to Giles County has shaped much of his songwriting over the years.
