The TVA Board of Directors have announced the selection of Mike Skaggs as TVA’s interim President and CEO.
Skaggs has more than 40 years of experience in the utility industry including serving as TVA’s Chief Operating Officer
from 2018 to 2021.
Skaggs’ steady leadership ensures reliability for the people TVA serves while the Board continues its permanent
selection process.
Over the course of his TVA career, Skaggs played key roles in some of the agency’s most significant nuclear milestones.
His experience includes the completion and startup of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2, the recovery of Browns Ferry Unit
1, which returned that site to full three unit operation and the successful management of two major steam generator
replacement projects.
Mike joined TVA in 1994 as a project manager at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and held multiple executive leadership positions
across nuclear operations and construction.
