This Week, TVA and partners will award grants totaling over $3.3 million to schools across the agency’s seven state service territory.
Grants range from $10,000 to $210,000, and amounts are dependent on the score each school earned by reducing energy use through simple everyday habit changes and by engaging students, faculty, staff and community throughout a year-long program.
Additionally, a needs-based assessment for each school determined which buildings would result in the greatest energy savings. The grants will assist with energy upgrades and help improve learning environments.
Locally, grants will be awarded to....Athens, Alabama, 3 grants in Columbia, Spring Hill, 3 grants in Fayetteville, Leoma, 2 grants in Lewisburg, and Mt Pleasant.
Specific schools and amounts will be announced Friday, May 8th.
