On Monday, July 13th, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol, divisions of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, will join local law enforcement for a press event to kick off “Operation Southern Slow Down,” a multi-state mobilization to crack down on speeding from July 13th to July 18th.
The purpose of this tenth annual traffic safety campaign is to increase speed enforcement on major highways and high-risk locations during a travel period when the rate of fatal crashes is highest throughout the Southeast.
During this campaign, THP will enforcement tactics, and safe driving tips to help curb aacidents and icidents on Tennessee Roadways.
