The Giles County Sheriff's Office offers this advice for Citizens...
When hiring someone to care for an elderly family member or vulnerable adult, it is important to make informed decisions to help protect your loved ones. The Tennessee Department of Health maintains an abuse registry that allows the public to search for individuals who may have been charged with crimes involving the abuse, neglect, or exploitation of elderly or vulnerable adults. Searches can be conducted by name or Social Security Number.
You can access the registry @ internet.health.tn.gov/abuseregistry/default.aspx
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also maintains a Tennessee Animal Abuse Registry. This registry contains information submitted by county clerks across the state regarding qualifying animal abuse convictions.
You can view the registry @ www.tn.gov/tbi/tennessee-animal-abuse-registry.html
For added convenience, links to both registries are being added to the new Giles County Sheriff’s Office mobile app. They will be found in the “More” section of the app. If you do not have the app yet, please go to our facebook page to access it.
