This reminder from the Giles County Sheriff's Office...
It is illegal to pass a school bus that has stopped to load or unload students. Never pass on the right side of the bus, as this is where the children enter or exit.
Remind your child that the bus stop is not a place to run or play. Children wait at least several feet away from a bus and often cross the street when they’re boarding or getting off the bus. This is why it’s vital to stop for school buses, and don’t attempt to pass a school bus.
And, School buses are among the safest vehicles on the road. They’re designed to be safer than passenger vehicles in preventing crashes and injuries; and in every state, stop-arm laws protect children from other drivers.
Please remeber these basic bus safety rules during the remainder of the school year.
