An integral part of Giles County history and a Giles County landmark will close its doors after the next week’s edition.

The Pulaski Citizen/Free Press will be closing their doors, and the Citizen Live will wrap-up after the current basketball season ends.

The Citizen/Free Press has been in circulation since 1854, and during a long stretch of that time was also the owner of Pulaski Broadcasting (WKSR-AM/FM).

Several area student/athletes garnered their first jobs working for one, or the other, or both.

Legendary names such as the McCord’s, George Martin, Nate Street, The Lake Family, and many more were instrumental in the history and preserving the history of day to day life in Giles County.

Current subscriptions will be refunded on a pro-rated basis, no new subscriptions will be offered. T

he decision wasn’t easy for the current owners, but as the times and landscape change daily, they felt it was necessary.

169 years, Pulaski Citizen/Free Press…Thank You for a job well done.
