While inflation has fallen from 2022 peaks, high prices are still eating into household budgets. Many Americans are paying special attention to their finances and finding ways to reduce spending.

Home prices, rent, and food inflation, as well as gas prices are making each dollar earned less powerful than before. In the first two months of 2024, Americans were able to save about 3.9% of their disposable income, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Here’s a list of local counties with the lowest cost of living in Tennessee…

#3. Wayne County, Population: 16,325, Median household income: $49,360, Median home value: $129,000, Median rent: $606.

#1. Perry County, Population: 8,432, Median household income: $55,978, Median home value: $122,900, Median rent: $699.

All other local Tennessee Counties failed to be a frugal in the battle against the cost of living in Tennessee.
