Donald Edward Cheatwood, age 63, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at his residence.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from the Lawrence County Highway Department, and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the New Prospect Fire Department for 40 years.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Braxton and Paula Vandevelte Cheatwood; one sister, Mary Ann Cheatwood; and one brother, Thomas Cheatwood.
 
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Cheatwood; two daughters, April Dawn Cheartwood and Amy Leah Glass; three grandchildren, Alexa Glass, Aniston Guzman, and Gavin Glass; two sisters, Judy Dotson (J.W.) and  Teresa Allen; four brothers, Tony Cheatwood (Becky), Johnny Cheatwood (Demetrice), Bobby Cheatwood, and Steve Cheatwood (Domonica), all of Lawrenceburg, TN; 18 nieces and nephews, 46 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 4 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
 
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the members of the Lawrence County Fire and Rescue Departments, and his hospice nurses, Penny Marston and Stacie Perry for their loving kindness and care.
 
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 23, 2021, with Mickey Brackin officiating.  Interment will follow at Scotts Hill Cemetery in Giles County, TN.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
