Edward Cox, Jr. of Athens was arrested last Thursday by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit during an operation with the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Huntsville Police Department.

During the operation the afore mentioned agencies executed a search warrant at Cox’s residence on Market Street in Athens where they found 13.75 ounces of methamphetamine and approximately three ounces of cocaine.

Cox was charged with two counts of drug trafficking and is currently being held in the Limestone County Jail on a $50,000 bond and a parole violation.
