The Alabama Forestry Commission issued a statewide Fire Alert for the state of Alabama on September 22nd, 2023.
While under a Fire Alert, permits for outside burning will be restricted. Anyone who burns a field, grassland, or woodland without a burn permit may be subject to prosecution.
The Alabama Forestry Commission cites current drought situations, continued lack of precipitation, and high probability of fuel ignition for the reasons for issuing the Fire Alert.
Currently there are no burn bans in effect for the State of Tennessee.
