Lincoln County, Fayetteville City firefighters, and other responding agencies are still on the scene of a massive business fire on Highway 231 just north of the Alabama-Tennessee line.

Fire crews have the fire contained, but continue to work and monitor hot spots.

Firefighters say a pallet-making business called Palatec was fully engulfed earlier today (Thursday)

Reports say that a vehicle hit a power pole next to the business and caused the fire. They were able to get the people out of the car, but there’s no further information available on the individuals in the vehicle, or their condition.

Most lanes of Highway 231 were closed in that area as firefighters battle that blaze. Later in the morning, authorities slowly opened the South bound lanes.

According to authorities, the fire started around 4:30am this (Thursday) morning.
