Tennessee Department of Transportation has scheduled work to begin this week on stabilizing part of U.S. Highway 31-A.

Kathryn Schulte, community relations officer with TDOT, said they are going to have the roadway down to one lane for several weeks, controlled by a temporary signal.

Part of Highway 31-A is three-lane that links Interstate-65 with Pulaski and the industrial park on the north side of the city.

This is the emergency repair for a slide that occurred during the heavy rains, said Schulte.

Dement Construction Company is the contractor  and the contract amount for repairs is $984,642.

Plans are to complete the work by July 31 barring bad weather.
