A resolution in honor of late Alderman Rebecca Bryant was adopted by the Elkton Board of Mayor and Aldermen at the April meeting.

A decision by the board has not been made whether to wait until the next general election to select a replacement for Bryant, who was serving her first term.

Mayor Jimmy Dean Caldwell told the board Elkton lost a pillar in our community when we lost Alderman Bryant. 

Caldwell did not take action on the replacement due to lack of a quorum among board members.

Elkton resident Bobby Sherrell said he would be interested in serving the remainder of Bryant’s term.
