The Giles County Republican Party has requested the Giles County Election Commission to hold a county primary, which has been set for Tuesday, May 1, of next year. 

Offices to be on the county primary ballot are those of County Executive, County Commissioners for Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, Trustee, Giles County Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk  and Register of Deeds. The first day to pickup petitions for the primary is Friday, Nov. 17.  

You must declare the Republican Party if you choose to run in the primary. Otherwise, you will declare Independent to be on  the  Aug. 2, 2018, County General ballot.

Qualifying deadline for candidates is Feb. 15, 2018, at noon.  Withdrawal deadline is Feb. 22 at noon.

Candidates for School Board Members Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7, aldermen for Elkton City, Lynnville City and Minor Hill City Elections to be held August 2nd, 2018,  must qualify by April 5, 2018, at noon. The first day to pick up a petition for these offices is Jan. 5, of next year.

The nominees elected in the primary will be on the Aug. 2 County General ballot.
