The Maury County Sheriff’s Department is searching for an individual who has tampered with at least one power meter in Mt. Pleasant.

Upon the request of the Duck River Electric Membership Corporation, a sheriff’s deputy and an employee of the electricity provider inspected a series of houses on Brown Workman Lane in Mt. Pleasant.

Their search resulted in the discovery of a power meter that was tampered with  in order to siphon electricity from the power grid.

The report indicates an altered meter was located at a private residence.

Records show no arrest and the investigation is ongoing.
