District Attorney Brent Cooper is speaking out about the child abuse case this week that left an infant fighting for her life.

A 3 month baby is in a medically induced coma at Vanderbilt while doctors try and stop a brain bleed.

The parents took the child to a hospital hours after she had different broken bones and internal bleeding at the hands of her father.

Cooper said these are the worst cases that you see as a prosecutor.  I have been prosecuting for almost 20 years and these are the cases that you cannot erase from your mind and they just give you a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach.

Police charged the father, 30-year-old Michael Fisher, with aggravated child abuse. The mother, 27-year-old Brooklyn Tidwell is facing aggravated neglect charges.

According to Cooper, the mother has other children who have not been in her custody for some time, but could not elaborate on why.

Family confirms a great aunt is in the process of getting emergency custody of the baby.
