A plan to improve Giles County School buildings throughout the county was released recently to the school system.

ESG Architects, a company working on the school plan, recently released its 50 percent assessment to the board .

According to Giles County Director of Schools, Phillip Wright, the assessment  is split  into two proposals. The first is basic and provides for needs at Giles County High School and Bridgeforth Middle School, with only some needs at the remaining county schools.

The company is expected to have a  75 percent assessment at the next School Board's work session on Thursday, February 21 at Bridgeforth Middle school.

The cost of the first proposal is estimated at 9 million dollars with second proposal at  13 million dollars.

Much of the cost is expected to come from energy savings done at the schools.
