Maury Regional Medical Center is welcoming Giles County High School students in June for the 2019 Maury Academy for Students in Health (MASH) program, a two-week summer camp for students interested in pursuing careers in health care.

MASH is coordinated by MRMC’s Volunteer Services Department and is accepting online applications throughout February. Accepted MASH students will visit a wide variety of medical departments while observing and learning about different areas of medicine and health-related professions from MRMC health care professionals.

According to Cindy Short, assistant director for Volunteer Services, the MASH program helps students find their passion and focus on what they want to do for the rest of their lives.

MASH will take place June 10–21, 2019.  If accepted in the program students would be required to attend the full session.

Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors during the 2019–20 school year, meet set academic requirements and attend an interview with a MRMC selection committee.  Recommendations from school personnel are required.

Applications for the 2019 MASH program are due March 1.
