The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Maury County involving at Mt Pleasant police officer last night.

The crash happened on Lawrenceburg Highway near S. Main Street just before 8pm.

According to THP officials, the officer struck a black Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by helicopter. The officer was transported to Williamson Medical Center.

The details of the crash and the injuries to both parties has not been released.

Lawrenceburg Highway was closed in both directions for a period of time in order to investigate the accident.
