The man shot in front of a Columbia diner has been identified. According to the Daily Herald, Juanest Cathey Jr. age 40, was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center on Wednesday after being shot and found lying in the middle of the road near Omega's Market and Diner at the intersection of Woodland Street and Cemetery Street.

The Columbia police department is continuing it's investigation into the shooting and a person of interest is being sought at this time. The suspect in question is described as a black male, wearing a white t-shirt, who was seen leaving the area in a black Infiniti sedan with a primer colored front bumper.
