An Amish man who was critically injured in a traffic crash last week has died. The Lawrenceburg Police Department reports that 28 year old Jonas Mast died Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from injuries he sustained during a traffic crash on August 15th.
Mast and three others were traveling in a buggy on highway 43 near Story & Lee Furniture when they were struck by a vehicle. The two horses pulling the buggy died at the scene.
The accident prompted a response by members of the Lawrenceburg police and fire departments and Lawrence county EMS. The identity of the driver of the vehicle has not been released by authorities. Police indicate the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
