Martin Methodist College is pleased to announce the establishment of The Rodney Johnson Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund.

A Pulaski native and fellow Eagle Scout since 1964 with Post 462 in Pulaski, Rodney Johnson attended Emory University in Atlanta where he graduated with his Bachelor of Art in 1970. In 1973, he received his Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law in New York. After law school, Johnson served as a law clerk before he moved up to higher legal positions, including member and secretary of the San Francisco Charter Commission and business, finance, and medical affairs group member in the Office of the General Counsel at Stanford University.

Named and funded in Johnson’s memory by his sister Judy Johnson, The Rodney Johnson Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund is eligible for Eagle Scouts from within the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America who are enrolling at MMC as full-time students. The scholarship will be, at the minimum, $1,000 per year and is renewable for four years based on a minimum 3.0 GPA.

In addition to the scholarship, Judy Johnson also donated Boy Scout memorabilia displayed in Colonial Hall on campus for public view from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
