The State of Tennessee Education Department released their TVAAS School and District Data information today. It was good news for Giles County Schools. The district moved from a level 1 to a level 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, 4 being above expectations 5 being exemplary.

Also, the school district is excited to report that Giles County High and Bridgeforth Middle School were also a level five. Director of schools Phillip Wright said “We are very excited for all of our students, teachers, central office staff, board and all employees in the district.” Over the last three years we have continued to make slow gains. We still have a ways to go, but this is a victory for the district and our schools. We are moving forward through teaching and learning.”

Wright and Dr. Michael Gonzalez appeared on the Bonus Hour at 8:15 this morning to talk about the school improvements.
